Adnan Hamad: Iraq is Capable of Competing in the Arab Cup
The famous Iraqi coach Adnan Hamad spoke about his national team's chances of competing for the Arab Cup title, which will begin in a few days in Qatar.
Hamad stated: "The Iraqi national team is capable of competing in the Arab Cup. This team is always able to achieve something, especially in combined tournaments."
He added: "The team lost its identity for quite some time and missed the easiest chance to qualify directly for the World Cup. However, in tournaments of this kind, it is capable of making a comeback with strong support from the fans."
He continued: "I believe that the Iraqi national team, two years ago under the Spanish coach Jesus Casas, aimed to qualify for the World Cup, but the technical staff did not succeed. The current staff was brought in as an emergency measure."
