Real Madrid coach Kylian Mbappé appeared in a press statement after the 4-3 victory over Olympiacos in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage.

The French star who scored a super hat-trick said: "It was very important for us to win again. We know that we haven't won in three matches, which is a very long time for a team like ours."

He added: "Today was a special day in the UEFA Champions League. It was important to win to finish this stage among the top eight teams, which is the team's goal for the first half of the season. It was a somewhat complicated match. We know it's difficult to win here. We started very poorly and lost the ball many times. We conceded the first goal, then we took control of the game and scored several goals. The second half was back and forth: we scored, they scored, but we came out victorious."

He continued: "What do they need to improve after the match? I don't know. We need to reconsider that. The only thing I see is that we controlled the match. We left very happy with scoring goals and having chances to score more. We need to look at the positives first, then the negatives."

Regarding scoring his first 4 goals in a single Champions League match: "I feel happy, I’m very happy. Scoring goals is always a pleasure for me. My teammates provide me with many high-quality passes. I’m very lucky to play in this team with all its players. I always try to score; sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t, but I always intend to help my team."
