German club Borussia Dortmund achieved a well-deserved victory over their Spanish guest Villarreal with a 4-0 win, in the match held at Signal Iduna Park as part of the fifth round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Sergio Girausi opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of added time in the first half, before the same player doubled his team's lead with a second goal in the 54th minute, after missing a penalty in the 53rd minute.

Karim Adeyemi added the third goal in the 58th minute, crushing the Spanish team's hopes of a comeback. Borussia Dortmund players were not satisfied with this result and continued their efforts until they scored the fourth goal in the 90+5 minute through Daniel Svensson.

The match was difficult for Villarreal after their player Juan Foyth was sent off in the 51st minute, which increased the difficulty of the team's situation away from home and reduced their chances of equalizing.

With this victory, Borussia Dortmund raised their tally to 10 points, occupying fourth place in the standings, while Villarreal's tally remained at one point in 34th place.
