Allegri: When Our Intensity Drops, We Become Vulnerable
AC Milan secured a valuable 1-0 victory over their rivals Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, marking another win that strengthens the team's progress under coach Massimiliano Allegri. After the match, Allegri emphasized that the team cannot rely solely on shining in big games.
Allegri said: "It was a great win and an enjoyable match. We started nervously in the first 15 minutes, then we relaxed and created four or five chances that we should have handled better in the final third."
He added: "We needed greater accuracy in our crosses, and after we scored, it was natural for Inter to fight back. We defended well through preventive marking, which is important against a team like Inter Milan."
He continued: "The points we have now are what we deserve. We could have drawn against Napoli and Roma, so things are balanced."
He continued: "This match reflects what happens throughout the season; when we don't impose our rhythm, we concede goals, and when we play a great game, we stay more focused. We must understand that when our intensity drops, we become vulnerable."
Regarding the significance of the win on a psychological level, he said: "Psychologically, this is a very important victory, and staying within the top four was a primary goal for us."
He also praised the duo of Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic after the latter’s return from injury, saying: "The understanding between Leão and Pulisic was good and had been seen before during the preparation period in Australia. We need everyone, and entering next week with full group training is a strong boost."
