Arnold: Mexico is a Good Omen for Iraq
Sunday 23-11-2025
Australian Graham Arnold, the head coach of the Iraq national team, spoke to the official FIFA website about the World Cup playoff draw.

He stated: "Two nights ago, on Tuesday, when we defeated the UAE, I saw the passion of the Iraqi fans and their great support for the national team."

He continued: "46 million people are hoping for us to qualify. It has been 40 years since they last qualified; the last time was in Mexico, where the playoff matches are being held, so it is a good omen."

It is worth noting that the Iraqi national team is just one match away from the World Cup, as they will play against the winner of the match between Bolivia and Suriname.
