Al-Hamdan Ignites the Transfer Market and Rejects Al-Hilal's Renewal Offer
Abdullah Al-Hamdan, Al-Hilal Saudi striker, sparked controversy about his future after rejecting the offer presented by his club to renew his contract, opening the door to the possibility of his transfer to a rival club in the near future.
The Saudi sports newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported that Al-Hamdan did not accept the current terms in the new contract, despite currently earning 5.2 million riyals, in addition to bonuses linked to championships and advertisements.
The newspaper confirmed that the player views positively the idea of moving to another big club, as he is receiving clear interest from the Portuguese Jorge Jesus, coach of Al-Nassr, who wishes to sign him to work with him again after a previous period they spent together.
Al-Hamdan's contract with Al-Hilal ends on the sixth of next February, which is after the closure of the winter registration period, making Al-Nassr obliged to negotiate with Al-Hilal to purchase the remaining period if they want to sign him in January.
Reports clarified that Al-Diriyah club has shown interest in acquiring the player's services, but their offer was not accepted by Al-Hamdan, who insists on playing for a big team in the Roshn League to ensure maintaining his position in the national team before the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Hamdan joined Al-Hilal in February 2021 coming from Al-Shabab, earning 150,000 riyals monthly in addition to an annual advance of 3.45 million riyals. He has participated in 142 matches with the team across various competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists.
