Senegal Coach After Brazil Match: We Were Treated with Disrespect
Friday 02-01-2026
Bab Thiao, the coach of the Senegal national team, launched a sharp attack on the organizers of the friendly match against Brazil, which was held at the Emirates Stadium, home of the English club Manchester City.

Thiao expressed his anger and frustration over the unequal treatment his team received compared to the Brazilian national team regarding training on the field before the match.

During the press conference following the match, the coach revealed that the organizers' instructions were clear and strict for both teams, prohibiting training on the pitch the night before the game. However, this rule was not applied equally to both teams, as the Brazilian team violated it and trained as usual, while the Senegalese team was prevented from doing so.

Thiao described this situation as a clear "disrespect" towards his national team. He explained, "They said that both teams were prohibited from training on the pitch the night before the match, but Brazil trained there and we did not! This is disrespect, and I wanted to point that out." The coach emphasized that his complaint was not related to the match result as much as it was about the principle of equal treatment among the participating teams.

It is worth noting that the match ended with the Brazilian team defeating Senegal. Despite his frustration with the organization, the Senegalese coach praised the Brazilian team's performance in the game.
