Al-Hilal Plans to Extend Marcos Leonardo's Contract as a Reward for His Outstanding Performance
Wednesday 17-12-2025
The management of Saudi club Al-Hilal has made a preliminary decision to renew the contract of Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo, which expires at the end of next season, in a move aimed at rewarding the player for his outstanding performance in recent times.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Yawm" revealed that Al-Hilal's management is currently considering modifying Leonardo's contract in terms of its duration and salary, with the intention of extending it for an additional two seasons to ensure his continued presence in the blue team's lineup.

This trend came after the impressive levels displayed by the Brazilian star since the start of the season, as he managed to score 12 goals and provide an assist in the 16 matches he played while wearing the Al-Hilal jersey across various competitions.

Leonardo joined the leader in the summer of 2024, coming from the Portuguese club Benfica for 40 million euros, with a contract lasting three years, making him one of the most significant foreign signings that added offensive strength to the team.

The club has recently re-registered the player in the local roster after he was temporarily excluded at the beginning of the season due to the injury of Portuguese player João Cancelo, which opened the door for his return to participate as a key player again.

The Al-Hilal management believes that Leonardo's continuation will be a strategic addition for the future, especially given his strong synergy with the team's attacking system and his ability to make decisive contributions in major matches within the Saudi Professional League.
