Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves of Al-Hilal commented on his own goal against Al-Najma in the match that his team won 4-2 on Friday, during the eighth round of the Roshen Saudi League.

Ruben Neves had scored the second own goal for his team in the 60th minute, but he made up for his mistake by helping his team come back and equalize by scoring the third goal from a free kick that he executed perfectly in the 78th minute.

Neves stated in his remarks: "It was a tough match; we started off trailing in the score, which made everything more difficult. However, we fell behind again due to a set piece."

He continued: "It was a tough match; we created many chances, but we secured the victory in the end. As for my own goal, these things happen in football."

He added, "I thought Bono would catch the ball, but the attack ended with my touch on the ball and it went into the net. However, this is a problem that can happen to any player, and the important thing is not to focus on the mistakes."

He continued: "We had to recover quickly from our mistakes, and I managed to contribute to the goal, with a bit of luck for sure, but the most important thing is to secure the three points."

Regarding his nomination for the FIFA "The Best" awards, Neves said: "My nomination for the FIFA awards is proof that people in Saudi Arabia are noticing my work, and it shows that I am doing a good job."
