The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that young star Lamine Yamal continued to shine with Barcelona after scoring his first goal in the team's 3-1 victory over Elche at the Montjuïc Stadium, in the Spanish league, raising his tally to three goals this season in La Liga.

The newspaper clarified that Yamal, who is 18 years old, has scored this season against Real Mallorca, Rayo Vallecano, and Elche, in addition to a fourth goal in the Champions League against Olympiacos, bringing his total goals to four across various competitions.

Since his debut with the first team on April 29, 2023, Lamine Yamal has played 80 matches in La Liga, scoring 17 goals and providing 27 assists, with impressive numbers that confirm his early maturity and exceptional talent.

Sport added that Yamal is approaching the record held by Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, for the most goals scored in the top five European leagues before turning 19, with a total of 23 goals achieved with Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.

The young Catalan star has the opportunity to break Mbappe's record, as he has 27 rounds remaining in La Liga this season to score seven additional goals before turning 19 on July 13.
