Spalletti: My goal is to bring Juventus back to compete for the Serie A title

Italian coach Luciano Spalletti expressed his great happiness at taking the technical leadership of Juventus, confirming that his goal is to bring the team back into the race for the Serie A title during the current season.

Spalletti said at the press conference to officially introduce him: "It's an amazing feeling because we all know the history of the club and its great organization. We realize that expectations are high, but entering this world and getting to know it practically is always an exciting experience."

He spoke about the reasons for accepting the short contract with the club, saying: "I accepted a contract for eight months because I believe in the potential of this team. If I didn't think I had players capable of developing, I wouldn't have agreed to this step. My goal is to do a good job and bring the team back to its true level."

He added about working with the current group: "I have great respect for Tudor and his work, and I am sure that I will find a team in a good mental state and physically ready. We just have to work hard to meet the expectations of the fans."

On his goals in the league, the Italian coach said: "I hope we can get back into the race for the league. I talked to the players and confirmed to them that the goal is the top. We have only played nine matches and there is still a lot ahead of us, and I see no reason for us to give up."

Regarding Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, Spalletti clarified: "With Vlahovic, things are simple. I haven't received any instructions from the club about him. I watched his performance against Udinese and it was fantastic. He showed clear intentions and professional behavior, and that's what we need in the team."

On his relationship with Napoli, Spalletti emphasized that he did not betray his former club, saying: "I left something in every city I coached in, but in Napoli, the experience was different. My relationship with the city and the fans is very special and will never change. What was said about me not wearing another club's shirt was specific to that season only, and I respected that."

He also talked about the playing style he intends to implement at Juventus: "Football for me is a beautiful show, but the most important thing is winning matches. We will work to provide an enjoyable performance while maintaining discipline and effectiveness."

Spalletti concluded his statements by saying: "Teamwork and self-discipline are what make the difference. I trust the players' behavior and their ability to unite to achieve results that befit the history of Juventus. We will do everything we can to be worthy of this great club."
