Alonso: Vinicius Crisis Closed, I’m Not Thinking About Tuesday's Match
Friday 31-10-2025
Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso appeared in a press conference to discuss tomorrow's clash against Valencia in the eleventh round of La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The coach said: "After a very positive first week, we have another difficult week with two league matches, starting against Valencia, followed by an away match in the Champions League. We want to conclude this series of results with positive energy. The team is eager to continue progressing, and tomorrow we face Valencia."

He added regarding Vinicius's apology after what happened in the Clasico: "On Wednesday, after two days of rest, we held a meeting with everyone. Vinicius Junior was excellent, flawless, he spoke from the heart and honestly, and I was very satisfied. Since then, the matter has been closed."

About Vinicius's apology statement: "For me, it was a very valuable and positive statement, and it showed his sincerity. He spoke from his heart about this club and what he aspires to. For me, the most important thing is what he said to his teammates and the fans. I was very satisfied, and we are already thinking about the next step. The matters are settled, and tomorrow we have a match, and that is the most important thing; he will not be punished."

On the midfield approach in the Clasico with Camavinga: "We knew this was a point of strength for us, and we could use it not only for a specific match. It is an approach that will give us competitiveness and solidity. It succeeded, not only tactically but also mentally. The preparation was good, and that is the basis of the success of this approach. The Clasico is now over, but it foreshadows our future."

Regarding Kylian Mbappe and his frequent participation: "I always feel concerned about the pressure of matches, and I don't want to put too much pressure on the players. There comes a time when you have to manage the minutes; you have to understand the right timing for everything; that has been the case and will continue to be, and we will see what the future holds."

He continued: "Are you asking Mbappe for more goals? He has scored goals and will continue to score. His daily routine is excellent. He handles it with great maturity, and that is very important. Then we have to support the team so that they can score goals."

He added: "I am not thinking about Tuesday's match (against Liverpool), but about tomorrow. I am thinking about the match against Valencia. Points can be wasted in the Champions League. But my focus is on the Valencia and Rayo Vallecano matches; Valencia won at the Bernabeu last year, and Rayo is playing well, so we will approach the match cautiously. Because after a big win, we might relax a bit."

He emphasized: "Before the Clasico, we talked about its importance. A win of this magnitude was important for the team's confidence. But we have to put that behind us now; we need to keep focusing on every match. If we fail in our preparations, we will lose points, and we don’t want that, it’s fine."

Regarding whether he has watched the Clasico again: "Yes, we succeeded in many things we planned; the team showed great solidity. We were very excited. This was clear in the players; they anticipated situations; when we are strong, we take the initiative."

On managing the locker room: "To be me, the most important thing is to be honest, not to pretend; I always think about the team's interest and maintaining good relationships in a respectful manner, considering that not everyone is the same; you need to have emotional intelligence."

Regarding whether renewing Vinicius's contract affects him: "I see him very focused and very excited. He played a great match recently; are you afraid of repeating what happened with Vinicius? I think the team, and all those involved, including Vinicius, are focused on what matters. Everyone wants to be on the field. The focus is singular. We want to move forward peacefully."

He added about Dani Carvajal's injury: "Dani played 20 minutes in the Clasico and performed excellently, competing fiercely... and on Monday morning, it was a surprise to receive a call from the doctor. We will definitely miss him; we believe he will be out for 7 or 8 weeks. We are waiting for him."

He concluded about Endrick's situation: "I wish he had gotten a few minutes recently; the conditions are right, and he is training well; these opportunities should be given to him."
