Bellingham: My Goals Are Not Luck, We Deserve to Win
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham appeared in press statements after the victory over Barcelona in the Clasico, 2-1, in the tenth round of La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The English player said: "It’s a very important win for us. We are very happy; it’s a great day. Everyone put in a lot of effort. That’s why we deserve the three points."
He added: "In the first half, we were very decisive in handling the ball. Every possession ended with a good shot or something good. In the second half, the defensive work was more effective. Militao, Hausen, Carreras, and Carvajal performed brilliantly upon entering. But it was a great match from the whole team."
Regarding the support from the Bernabeu fans: "Oh my God! This victory is for the fans too. Last year, we played poorly in the big matches, and today this win is for everyone: the players, the coaching staff, and the fans..."
On his decisive pass to Mbappe: "They play very advanced. We have Mbappe, and attacking play is easier. I turn and pass, then he shoots and scores."
On scoring two goals in the last two matches: "These are my favorite goals. Many say it’s luck, but for me, this is my way of understanding the game. When the ball moves here and there, positioning changes everything, and I’m always ready in case it comes to me. Militao scored with his head, then I was there to score."
He concluded: "I feel good. I have worked hard over the past few months with the physiotherapists and in the gym. I’m very happy now because I feel good and ready for what’s coming."
