West Ham's Stance on Nuno Santo's Dismissal
Sunday 26-10-2025
The British newspaper "The Times" reported that West Ham United has decided to renew its confidence in its Portuguese coach Nuno Santo, granting him full support during the upcoming winter transfer window, despite the team's declining results in the Premier League.

The report clarified that West Ham, which occupies one of the bottom three spots in the standings, does not intend to dismiss its coach again this season after already replacing Graham Potter earlier. Since taking over as head coach last month, the team has only garnered one point from four matches, the latest being a 2-1 loss to Leeds United, making him the first West Ham manager since Manuel Pellegrini in 2018 to fail to secure a victory in his first four matches.

The newspaper mentioned that the 51-year-old Portuguese coach is looking to sign a striker in January, and he has the support of the club's management, which acknowledged that signing Callum Wilson for free last summer was not enough to strengthen the attacking line.

The report also indicated that Nuno Santo is facing clear defensive problems, as the team has conceded 20 goals in nine league matches, and the duo Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman are experiencing a dip in form, while Igor Julio, who came from Brighton on loan, has only played one minute since the start of the season.
