According to what Walid Salah El-Din stated in his remarks to the official website of Al Ahly Club, the reason for El-Shennawy's exclusion was due to severe fatigue alongside suffering from a cold.
The football director added that the coaching staff preferred to give El-Shennawy the necessary rest to fully recover, so he would be ready for the upcoming matches.
