Latest developments on Bencharki's contract renewal with Al Ahly FC

Al Ahly FC officials plan to meet with first-team player Achraf Bencharki during the upcoming international break. This meeting aims to discuss the renewal of his contract, as well as to reach an agreement regarding the financial compensation offered to ensure his continued presence with the team in the coming seasons.

The portal clarified that the management of Al Ahly FC is seeking to retain Achraf Bencharki's services and extend his contract, considering him a key pillar of the team. However, this step is conditional on adhering to the financial regulations and the salary cap established for players.

Al Ahly FC has set a financial ceiling for signing foreign players at one million dollars per year, in line with the regulations applied to local players. This financial commitment has already been reflected in their recent signings, such as Mounsef Bakrar and Sofiane Ben Jeddai.

The dilemma surrounding Achraf Bencharki's contract lies in the wide gap between his current salary and the financial ceiling of Al Ahly FC, making renewal contingent on his acceptance of a pay cut; the management firmly refuses to break its contractual policy for any player, regardless of their technical value.
