Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario expressed his dissatisfaction with his team Tottenham Hotspur's performance during the goalless draw against Monaco, in the third round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, confirming that the team was not at its level and did not adhere to the basics required in such matches.

Vicario said: "We did not deliver our best performance, and there is a lot to learn from this match, because the level of competition in the Champions League is very high; if you lack some basics, it becomes difficult to compete against any team."

He added: "It's not about the changes we made tonight, but about the effort, mentality, and awareness of danger that we need to have in certain situations, and I think we lacked that a bit today."

He continued: "We have to accept the point, even though it came with difficulty because we had to fight and struggle throughout the match. We must give Monaco credit for what they presented, as they were better than us, and we need to learn from this match because we are capable of delivering a better performance."

Vicario concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of correcting mistakes, saying: "We cannot lack the basics or effort or running; these are fundamental aspects of football. Away from home, things are harder, especially against a team with high technical quality like Monaco. We need to raise our performance level significantly in the upcoming matches."
