Police Team Faces Double Blow Before Match Against Erbil in Star League
Wednesday 22-10-2025
The police team received a painful blow before their upcoming match against Erbil in the fourth round of the Iraqi Star League, after it was confirmed that two of their key players would be absent due to injury, namely Ahmed Yahya and Hussein Jabar.

These absences came after the team's last match against Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in the Asian Champions League, which saw the duo sustain injuries of varying degrees, prompting the medical staff to subject them to thorough examinations to determine the nature of their injuries and the expected duration of their absence.

Medical results showed that player Ahmed Yahya suffered a fracture in his nose, which necessitated his immediate transfer to the hospital after the match, where he underwent initial examinations under the supervision of a specialist doctor, with a decision on whether he would need surgical intervention expected within the next few days, while he will be given complete rest until he fully recovers.

As for Hussein Jabar, it was revealed that he suffered a muscle tear in the hamstring measuring about three centimeters, which will keep him off the field for a period until he completes his treatment and rehabilitation program.

Both players will officially miss the team's next match against Erbil, as they await their recovery and return to the green lyre's lineup in the upcoming rounds of the league.
