The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced today, Wednesday, the official list of teams nominated for the Best African Team award for the year 2025, which saw a double Moroccan presence with the inclusion of both the senior national team and the U-20 team, in a precedent that confirms the depth of the football renaissance that Moroccan football has witnessed in recent years.

The nomination of the Moroccan senior team came after a series of positive results achieved during the year, whether in the African qualifiers for the World Cup or in international friendly matches, solidifying its position as one of the strongest African and Arab teams, continuing the upward trajectory that began since the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

As for the U-20 youth team, it entered history in a grand way after gifting Morocco its first global title by winning the U-20 World Cup 2025 in Chile, following a well-deserved victory over Argentina with a clean two-goal score in the final, an unprecedented achievement in Arab and African football.

The list of nominated teams includes: Morocco (senior team) – Morocco (U-20) – Senegal – Egypt – Algeria – Tunisia – Ivory Coast – Ghana – Cape Verde – South Africa.

The winner of the award is expected to be announced during the CAF Awards ceremony 2025, which is scheduled to take place later this year.
