Al-Hilal Saudi team managed to achieve a new accomplishment in the AFC Champions League for elite teams after defeating Al-Sadd Qatari team with three goals to one, in a match held at the Kingdom Arena on Tuesday evening.

With this victory, the leader was able to break the record of the Japanese team Yokohama, reaching 12 consecutive home wins in the continental tournament, surpassing the historic streak of the Japanese team which stopped at 11 wins.

Yokohama had held the longest home winning streak between October 2023 and March 2025, before Al-Hilal came to put an end to that journey and create a new history for Saudi football in the Asian tournament.

The three goals for Al-Hilal were scored by Turkish player Yusuf Akçay, Senegalese Khalidou Koulibaly, and Serbian Sergej Milinković-Savić, while Brazilian Roberto Firmino scored the only goal for Al-Sadd during the match.

Al-Hilal players showed clear superiority in terms of control and collective performance, as they successfully imposed their attacking style from the start of the match until its end, amidst significant fan support in the stands of the “Kingdom Arena”.

With this victory, Al-Hilal continues to lead the Western Group in the AFC Champions League for elite teams with a total of 9 full points from three matches, achieving a perfect score in their continental journey so far, in a strong step towards early qualification for the knockout stages.
