Barcelona Monitors Top French Talents
Monday 20-10-2025
Barcelona has sent its scouts to follow the match between Marseille and Le Havre in the French league, as part of the club's strategy to identify the most promising young talents worldwide, especially given the current financial situation and financial fair play restrictions.

The French league is one of the most prominent leagues that produces promising talents, which prompted Barcelona to watch the match live. Although La Masia Academy is considered the best in the world and continuously feeds the first team, monitoring young players in other leagues serves as a safeguard for the future, as the club has previously proven.

Last summer, Barcelona benefited from the sale of player Jean-Clair Todibo, who was signed for one million euros, allowing the club to achieve a financial return of nearly 20 million euros when he was sold later.

The signing of Samuel Umtiti from Olympique Lyon for 25 million euros is another example of the club's success in discovering talents, while their traditional rival Real Madrid has turned to the French league to sign prominent players like Eduardo Camavinga and Tchouaméni.

During Marseille's 6-2 victory over Le Havre, Barcelona's scouts observed a number of promising players such as Baichao, as well as Mason Greenwood, the former star at Getafe and Manchester United, who scored four spectacular goals. Despite his previous links to Barcelona, signing him seems difficult due to the availability of other options in his position and off-field controversies.

Also among the well-known faces for the Catalan club was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is loved by fans after his outstanding performance in the 2021/2022 season, and he recently provided an assist in Marseille's latest victory.
