Getafe Coach: Small Details Decided the Match, and Vinicius Tried to Provoke Me
Monday 20-10-2025
Getafe coach José Bordalás appeared in a press statement after the loss against Real Madrid by a goal to nil in the ninth round of the Spanish league competition.

He began his remarks about his discussion with Bellingham after Nyom's red card upon entering as a substitute: "Vinicius came to me to say what a great change it was, and Bellingham told me that I should have sat on the bench. Vinicius should not come to provoke me or tell me that the substitution was good."

He added: "The team feels pain because all the effort we put in has gone to waste. We suffered from many difficult circumstances after we were performing well."

Regarding Nyom's red card: "The red card completely changed the course of the match. The fourth official said that the incident deserved a red card, but for me, it was not — at most, it was just a yellow card. The referee said he saw it as red and there was no need to review it. Everything started with the yellow card that Femina received. We were performing wonderfully, but as always happens in such matches, cards are easily given against us while similar fouls from the other side are ignored."

About the missed opportunity in the dying moments of the match: "Even with nine players, we had a chance through Kamara, and if he had scored, it would have been a well-deserved reward for the team against players of the highest level."

Regarding his conversation with Xabi Alonso: "I was talking to the fourth official, and I told my assistant not to direct any words to the opposing team members."

He concluded: "We had a great match despite everything, but the small details decided the encounter."
