Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk spoke in press statements after the loss against Liverpool with a score of 2-1 in the eighth round of the English Premier League.

The Dutch defender said: "We conceded a second goal very naively. We worked hard to get back into the game and created excellent chances to take the lead, but when you concede a goal in that manner, it is extremely frustrating."

He added: "If we look at the match as a whole, we were very hasty in our decisions. Manchester United played with great patience, they didn't press us high but also didn't allow us to control the ball. Nevertheless, we created many chances, but in the end, the truth is that we lost."

He emphasized: "We are going through a difficult period and we need to stay united — not just us players, but as a team and fans as well. We all want to win, and that requires us to remain united."

Regarding the first goal and Mac Allister's header injury: "It was a long ball, the first header was from a United player, then I touched the ball, and my elbow collided with Mac and we both fell. It was a difficult angle to score from, but he did. After that, we had enough time to recover, but we didn't."

He concluded: "We need to stay humble, keep working, and maintain confidence. When things get tough, it's important to keep the mentality of one team. The season is still long, and we need to fight until the end."
