According to journalist Mario Cortegana, senior officials within Real Madrid assert that contract renewal announcements are made only when the club deems it appropriate for its interests, based on several different internal factors.

It is worth noting that several media reports had indicated that Real Madrid had indeed renewed Mendy's contract until the summer of 2028, yet the club has not issued any official statement regarding this matter to date.
