Lukaku's Agent Reveals the Secret Behind His Non-Joining of Real Madrid
Federico Pastorello, the agent of Belgian star Romelu Lukaku, revealed that Real Madrid was seriously considering signing his client during Carlo Ancelotti's tenure.
Pastorello stated in press remarks: "There was a real opportunity for Lukaku to join Real Madrid; the club was looking for a new striker, but its focus was on signing Kylian Mbappe the following year, so they did not want to spend money on a temporary loan deal."
He added: "Ancelotti wanted to sign him, but unfortunately, it did not happen."
Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024 in a free transfer after the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
It is worth noting that Lukaku has played for several clubs, most notably West Bromwich, Everton, Manchester United, Inter, and Roma, before joining Napoli in the summer of 2024.
