Thursday 16-10-2025
Everton FC has announced that its international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has signed a new contract that extends until June 2029, continuing his long journey with the team that began when he transferred from Sunderland in 2017.

The 31-year-old has played 326 matches in the "Toffees" jersey, and has defended the England national team goal in 80 international matches, achieving a new record of 9 consecutive matches with a clean sheet at the international level.

Pickford said after signing the contract: "I am extremely happy. Everton is a special club for me; I came from Sunderland as a young player and matured here. I want to continue building my legacy with this club and help the team return to European competition."

He added: "I believe the tough days are behind us, and now it's time to build and move forward towards a better future. We have new management and a coach with a clear vision, and our goal is to restore Everton to the position it deserves."

Pickford is the player who has won the club's Player of the Season award the most times in its history (four times), and the English goalkeeper aspires to end his career by winning a major trophy with Everton and leaving a legacy close to that of legendary goalkeeper Neville Southall.
