Wednesday 15-10-2025
The Moroccan national team defeated their Congolese counterpart with a score of 1-0 in the match held on Wednesday evening at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, as part of the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The only goal of the match was scored by striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the 63rd minute, following a quick counterattack led by Achraf Hakimi, who delivered an accurate cross that En-Nesyri finished into the net, granting the "Atlas Lions" their sixteenth consecutive victory.

The match witnessed a clear dominance by the national team in the second half, as the Moroccan team intensified their offensive pressure and squandered several clear chances to score, while the Congolese team retreated into defense.

With this victory, the Moroccan national team continued its impressive series of results, achieving their sixteenth consecutive victory across various competitions, making them the holder of the longest winning streak in the history of national teams, surpassing the previous record held by Germany and Spain (15 consecutive wins), thus entering the Guinness World Records.

The "Atlas Lions" had equaled the world record last week after defeating the Bahrain national team in a friendly match, before officially clinching the historical title with their victory over Congo in today's match.
