The Senegal national team announced the injury of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and his exclusion from the squad that will face Mauritania in a crucial match scheduled for today, Tuesday, October 14, in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

According to the statement from the Senegal national team, Mendy is suffering from a severe injury in the chest area, which he sustained during the match against South Sudan in the previous round of World Cup qualifiers.

It is noteworthy that Mendy received treatment from the medical staff and completed the match against South Sudan normally, participating in training on Sunday and Monday without any problems, before being excluded later from the match against Mauritania.
