Duhok Club has officially announced the signing of Iraqi coach Abdul Ghani Shahid to take over the leadership of the first football team, succeeding Brazilian Sergio Farias, in a move aimed at restoring stability to the technical team and achieving positive results in the Iraqi League.

This decision comes after a series of negative results that the team experienced under the previous coach, which put Duhok in a very difficult position on the ranking table.

The management of Duhok Club had decided to terminate the contract with Brazilian coach Farias after four matches played by the team in the league, during which they did not achieve any victories, as all ended in losses, leaving the team at the bottom of the table without any points.

According to sources within the club, the Duhok management was satisfied with the collective performance level of the team, but felt that a change in the coaching staff had become an urgent necessity to correct the course before it was too late.

It is worth noting that Abdul Ghani Shahid had recently taken over the coaching of Al-Zawraa Club in Iraq, but the results he achieved did not meet the expectations of the management and fans, leading to a mutual termination of the contract.

Despite that short experience, Shahid's long experience in coaching and his familiarity with various training methods are among the main reasons that led Duhok's management to rely on him in the upcoming phase.

The club hopes that the Iraqi coach can restructure the team and motivate the players to regain their confidence, especially after a series of negative results that affected their morale.
