French winger Florian Thauvin, player of Lens, has been awarded the Best Player of September in Ligue 1, according to the announcement by the Professional Football Players' Union in France.

Thauvin is having a remarkable season, having regained his place in the French national team after more than six years of absence. He succeeded in scoring a fantastic goal against Azerbaijan and has contributed to a strong start for Lens, which currently occupies the sixth position in the standings, just three points behind the leader Paris Saint-Germain.

Thauvin received 46% of the votes, surpassing his competitors Vitinha from Paris Saint-Germain and Romain Del Castillo from Brest, thus achieving his fourth Player of the Month award in his career, and the first in seven years.

In his statements, Thauvin expressed his happiness, saying: "I feel that what I am experiencing exceeds a dream. At one point, I was closer to retiring than returning to the French national team, but I kept working and will continue to do so until the end of my career."
