Saturday 11-10-2025
Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, revealed the nature of the injury suffered by the team's star and Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappé during the match against Azerbaijan in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Mbappé had requested to be substituted in the 82nd minute after feeling pain in his right ankle, leaving the field amid concern from the coaching staff and fans.

Deschamps stated in his comments after the match: "It is the same ankle that was injured previously. The pain subsides when he gets rest."

The French coach added: "During matches, it is normal for there to be clashes, and we will evaluate his condition. He is feeling discomfort, which is not ideal for him."

Mbappé had previously suffered a similar injury during Real Madrid's match against Villarreal, which caused him to miss some training sessions with the French national team. Despite the doubts surrounding his participation against Azerbaijan, the French star managed to score one goal and assist another in the match that ended with a 3-0 victory for the Blues.
