Officially.. Diyala Club wins its case against Mosul
The Disciplinary Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation decided on Wednesday to consider Mosul Club as the loser with a score of (3-0) against Diyala Club, in the fourth round of the Iraqi Stars League, after it was proven that they fielded seven professional players in the match, in clear violation of the regulations that allow only six professionals to participate in each match.
The committee clarified in its statement that "the decision came based on the official objection submitted by Diyala Club, which included a documented complaint against Mosul Club regarding its fielding of an excessive number of foreign players," emphasizing that "the violation is substantiated by official evidence and match reports."
The statement added: "The committee reviewed all official documents related to the match, and after verifying the participation of the seven players, the instructions stipulated in the competition regulations were applied, which state that the violating team loses with a score of (3-0), regardless of the actual result of the match on the field."
