Disciplinary Committee Fines Al-Student Club: Find Out the Reason!
The Disciplinary Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation decided on Wednesday to impose a financial fine on Al-Student Sports Club, following the two statements issued by the club after the decisions made against it by the committee earlier, which included phrases described as 'offensive' to the federation and its working committees.
The committee stated in an official statement received by Shafaq News Agency: 'The committee held a meeting to discuss the press statements issued by Al-Student Club after the issuance of the Disciplinary Committee's decision number (217) dated (29-9-2025), which clearly contained insults to the federation and its committees, in addition to personal insults directed at the committee's chairman, along with circulating incorrect and misleading information.'
The committee added: 'What was stated in the two statements caused a fabricated media uproar that harmed the federation's efforts and its endeavors to organize competitions in a fair and disciplined manner,' noting that 'a delegation from Al-Student Club attended the federation's headquarters and expressed its intention to issue an official apology for what was stated in the previous statements; however, the club did not provide any justification for canceling or reducing the disciplinary measures against it.'
The committee continued in its statement: 'Based on the above, the committee decided to impose a financial fine of (10,000,000) ten million Iraqi dinars on Al-Student Sports Club, based on the provisions of Article (48-3) of the Disciplinary and Ethical Regulations for the 2025-2026 season.'
The committee concluded its statement by emphasizing that 'the decision is final and not subject to appeal, in accordance with the text of Article (135) of the same regulations.'
This decision comes at a time when the Iraqi football scene is witnessing increasing tension between some clubs and the federation committees due to recent disciplinary decisions, which have sparked a wave of controversy and varied reactions across social media.
