Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique appeared in a press statement after the 1-1 draw against Lille in the seventh round of the French league.

The coach said about resting the team's stars: "We started the match well, we were in control and playing our style. We preferred to prioritize the health of the players, as the week was tough after facing Barcelona and the fatigue that followed."

He added: "We had a strong and closely matched game, and we scored a wonderful goal through Nuno Mendes tonight. We had opportunities to win, but what happened is similar to what happened two years ago when Lille scored in the last minutes. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with my team."

He emphasized: "We lacked nothing today, as we created more chances than the opponent. I really like the way Lille plays and their mobility, but our team is young and deserves congratulations, especially Quentin Ndiaye who showed strong character and was truly outstanding."

Regarding his assessment of the start of the season: "We are at the top of the league, and our position is good in the Champions League. We need to maintain this level throughout the season if we want to win titles. We will see that in the latter part of the season, but for now, we are happy, and it is time for the players to join their national teams and prepare for what is coming."

Enrique concluded his talk about the competition in the French league: "We try to bring the same passion and intensity in every match. Whether the competition is strong or not, it is good to have more than one team fighting for the title, but in the end, we will see who remains at the top."
