Pedri: We Lacked Enthusiasm, and We Were Not at Our Level
Sunday 05-10-2025
Spanish player Pedri, a midfielder for FC Barcelona, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's performance after the heavy loss to Sevilla with a score of 4-1, in the match that took place at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium as part of La Liga.

Pedri said: "Many things happened in the match, and we need to conduct a self-critique. In the first half, we did not defend well and did not attack as we should have, and we need to improve a lot of things after the international break so that we can return to winning matches."

He added: "In the first half, we lacked enthusiasm and the quality of moving the ball, and we didn't know what to do when we had it. We were never at our level, and we lost most of the individual duels. We made many tactical mistakes, such as moving the defensive line at the wrong times, and we didn't know how to get out of the opponent's pressure."

Regarding the penalty missed by Lewandowski, Pedri said: "These are opportunities that can change the course of the match, but penalties can be missed. The problem is that we did not show ourselves well throughout the match."

He concluded his remarks by referring to the moment of Sevilla's second goal: "I was close to Koundé and saw the mistake clearly, but the referee said it was very minor. Sometimes such cases are counted, and sometimes they are not."
