Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed the nature of his relationship with Argentine star Lionel Messi, expressing his confidence in providing the grand tribute that the player deserves, according to what was reported by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo".

Laporta explained that his relationship with Messi was good for a long time, but it experienced a slight strain when the contract was not renewed, before things returned to normal later. He said, "We have had a good relationship for a long time, and we are confident in providing the grand tribute he deserves."

The president also touched on his qualities as a leader of the club, emphasizing the importance of responsibility, transparency, love for the club and the people. He stated, "The president of Barça must be responsible and tell the truth because Barça has only one word, and above all, you must love Barça and the people, and put the interests of the club and others before your own interests."

Laporta also expressed his opinion on coach Hans Flick, describing him as a wonderful coach who is easy to deal with, combining German rigor and organization with sensitivity towards everyone, affirming his satisfaction and happiness in working with him.

Regarding the team management and the team around him, Laporta stated that he coordinates with senior experts and listens to the opinions of his chief of staff, colleagues in the council, and his children who have now formed their own opinions, pointing out the importance of recognizing that knowledge is much less than the experience of the coach or the sports director.
