Barcelona Bets on Regaining the Best Version of Raphinha Before the Clasico
Monday 13-10-2025
Barcelona hopes to regain the best version of its Brazilian player Raphinha to strengthen the attack and restore the team's balance, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo".

This interest comes after the player excelled last season with 34 goals and 23 assists, in addition to his significant impact both on and off the field.

Raphinha, who is 28 years old, suffered a hamstring injury during the Oviedo match on September 25, and is expected to return to participate on Saturday against Girona. The club considers his return vital to ensure intense pressing and leadership in attack, especially after recent defeats against Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 and Sevilla 4-1.

Raphinha was the team's top scorer last season with 34 goals and provided 23 assists, also playing the most minutes (4,661 minutes) and ranking second in terms of official matches played (57 matches).

He also shone in the UEFA Champions League by scoring 13 goals, tying with Serhou Guirassy, and reaching fifth place in the Ballon d'Or ranking, surpassing Kylian Mbappé.

Barcelona needs his energy and passion to return to its best levels, as the team's success under Hans Flick relies on high pressing and intense attacking, which has been lacking in recent matches. Raphinha will also cover the void left by the injured Dani Olmo, becoming a strong addition both on and off the field.

After renewing his contract until 2028, Raphinha is expected to turn 29 in December and will head to the World Cup as one of the leaders of the Brazilian national team, further solidifying his position within Barcelona. Hans Flick has great confidence in the player, who has the ability to influence his teammates as Inigo Martinez did in the past, making him a cornerstone in the upcoming phase of the season, especially before the highly anticipated Clasico match on October 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
