Mbappé's Stance on Joining France's Camp After Injury
French newspaper 'L'Équipe' reported that star Kylian Mbappé suffered a minor injury to his right ankle during Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over Villarreal, as he was forced to leave the pitch in the 82nd minute after scoring the team's third goal.
The newspaper clarified that the initial examinations conducted by Real Madrid's medical team revealed a slight sprain in the right ankle, while coach Xabi Alonso confirmed in his statements after the match that the player would undergo further tests with the French national team, adding: "We will monitor his condition and hope the injury is not serious."
L'Équipe added that Mbappé is scheduled to join the French national team camp on Monday, in preparation for the World Cup qualifying matches against Azerbaijan and Iceland, at least to assess his condition accurately.
Mbappé has had a strong start to the season with Real Madrid, scoring 14 goals in all competitions, including 9 goals in La Liga.
