Sofyan Amrabat's Injury Threatens His Participation with the Moroccan National Team
Saturday 04-10-2025
Real Betis, the Spanish club, announced today, Saturday, that their Moroccan international midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has sustained a muscle injury that will keep him out of the match against Espanyol scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, as part of the eighth round of La Liga.

The Andalusian club clarified in an official statement that Amrabat is suffering from a fascia injury resulting from trauma to the rectus femoris of the right thigh, following a collision he experienced during the team's match against Ludogorets Razgrad in the Europa League.

The statement added that the duration of the player's absence will be determined based on the progression of his health condition in the coming days, as concerns grow over his absence from upcoming international fixtures with the Moroccan national team.

This injury comes just days before the friendly matches that the "Atlas Lions" will play against Bahrain and Congo on October 9 and 14, as part of the team's preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which puts Amrabat's participation in doubt and presents national coach Walid Regragui with alternative options in midfield.
