Bellingham Wins Player of the Year Award in England for the 2024/2025 Season

Wednesday 01-10-2025
The English Football Association announced that star Jude Bellingham, midfielder for Real Madrid and the England national team, won the award for Best Player in England for the 2024/2025 season, following a public vote.

Bellingham surpassed Declan Rice, who came in second, and Harry Kane, who finished third. This is the first time the young English star has received this accolade, making him only the second player to win the award while playing outside of England, following Owen Hargreaves with Bayern Munich in 2006.

During the past season, Bellingham participated in eight international matches and contributed to England's advancement in the UEFA Nations League under interim coach Lee Carsley, ahead of the Euro 2026 qualifying matches with new coach Thomas Tuchel.

Bellingham scored a goal against Greece at Wembley Stadium last October and was awarded Man of the Match in England's 5-0 victory against Ireland in November. He continued to shine with impressive assists, notably setting up a goal for Myles Lewis-Skelly against Albania in March, along with two assists in the match against Ireland.

With this accolade, Bellingham affirms his status as one of the most prominent stars in English football today, after delivering an exceptional season with Real Madrid and the national team.
