The Saudi club Al-Fateh responded to the possibility of Portuguese coach José Gomez leaving the team to take over the coaching role at Al-Ahly in Egypt.

Journalistic sources confirmed that Gomez is among the coaching candidates considered by the Al-Ahly management to replace the Spanish José Ribeiro as head coach of the first team.

Rumors emerged in recent hours about Al-Ahly entering serious talks with Gomez to return to the Egyptian league again, following his successful previous experience with Zamalek.

Mohammed Al-Daif, the media center director at Al-Fateh, stated in a press release that Gomez will continue to lead the team and that the rumors about his departure are untrue.

He emphasized the board's confidence in the capabilities of the Portuguese coach and their commitment to keeping him with the team.
