Liverpool Makes New Offer to Extend Konate's Contract
Wednesday 01-10-2025
French newspaper "L'Équipe" reported that Liverpool has made a new offer to extend the contract of its French international defender Ibrahima Konate, whose current contract expires next June, at a time when major European clubs, notably Real Madrid, are closely monitoring the player's situation.

The newspaper clarified that negotiations between Liverpool and Konate began about a year ago, but the initial offer made by the club last December was not suitable for his status as a first-team player, leading to a halt in discussions for several months before they resumed in the spring.

L'Équipe added that Liverpool's management has restructured its offers multiple times, the latest being about two weeks ago, while some details remain pending, although officials at the English club express great confidence in the possibility of finalizing the extension soon.

The newspaper also pointed out that Konate's situation comes at a time when his French national teammate William Saliba has settled his future with Arsenal by renewing his contract until 2030, while talks between Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano are still stalled.
