Spanish newspaper 'Marca' revealed that Bayern Munich attempted to sign Brazilian striker Rodrygo during the last summer transfer window through a close intermediary, but Real Madrid's management completely refused to enter into any negotiations regarding his sale.

The newspaper clarified that the player's desire has always been to continue with the royal team, while the German club showed serious interest in acquiring him, even leading to financial discussions. Nevertheless, Real Madrid remained firm in its vision regarding the player's retention, affirming its confidence in his potential and future role.

Rodrygo, who prefers to play solely as a left winger, finds himself in direct competition with his compatriot Vinicius Junior, but his appearances this season have been limited, having only played two starting matches out of eight, totaling 122 minutes in the league.

According to Marca, Real Madrid's management believes that the player is still capable of regaining his previous level to become an impactful element in the upcoming phase, especially with the approach of the 2026 World Cup.
