West Ham United announced via its official website the appointment of Portuguese Nuno Espírito Santo as the new head coach of the men's first team on a contract that extends for three years.

Nuno, who is 51 years old, will play his first official match with the team next Monday against Everton in the Premier League.

The club's official website confirmed that the Portuguese coach arrives at London Stadium with an impressive coaching resume, having recently led Nottingham Forest to qualify for European competitions by finishing last season in seventh place in the Premier League, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Throughout his career, Nuno has won several domestic titles as a player with Porto and achieved coaching successes with Wolverhampton and Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, making him one of the prominent coaches in modern football.

Nuno stated in his remarks: "I am very happy to be here and proud to represent West Ham. My goal is to work hard to get the best out of the team and ensure that we are competitors to the fullest. We have already started working and I look forward to the next challenge."
