Saturday 27-09-2025
Massimiliano Allegri, the head coach of Milan, spoke at a press conference held before the match against Napoli tomorrow, Sunday, at San Siro, as part of the Italian league. The coach confirmed that the match represents a real test for his team amid the great ambitions this season.

Regarding the match and the opponent, he said: "We are facing a team that deserved to win the Scudetto last season and made significant transfer market moves, they are the top contenders. Napoli is a strong team and has achieved 18 victories and 8 draws in the last 26 matches, and we need to try to turn the tide after losing the last four encounters against them. It will be a tough match against an opponent that gives little space."

He added: "This match will be an important test; we are in good physical and mental condition, and the more we work together, the better we improve. We need 100 minutes of full concentration. Leao's participation will be a great addition, and I am happy to see the stands full and the support of our fans, as it gives us the motivation to continue developing."

On Conte and the coaching comparison, he continued: "I haven't communicated with Conte, but his results speak for themselves. His team is organized offensively and defensively, and it's difficult to score against them. I have great respect for him; he is a great professional who has achieved significant successes."

Regarding the season's goals, he clarified: "The management has done a good job in the transfer market and created a balanced team. Our primary goal is to be among the top four to secure a place in the Champions League. What matters to me is consistency, balance, and working with a collective spirit away from external pressures."

On the importance of all players, the coach confirmed: "Last Tuesday's match showed that players like De Winter, Ethikami, and Nkunku have integrated well. As for Pulisic and Jimenez, they are performing excellently, and we need to be physically and mentally ready, whether as starters or substitutes."

On the midfield and attack, he added: "I am grateful to the management for signing a player like Rabiot, who has raised the competition within the group. We have six distinguished players in midfield, alongside Modric, who is an exceptional case. In attack, everyone is available, which makes it difficult for me to choose but also provides multiple options."

On results and the importance of winning, he said: "Winning is the norm at Milan, and losing is the exception. Sometimes we achieve great victories, and sometimes we will have to win in tough and low-quality matches. The important thing is to gather points even if the matches are difficult."

On future goals, the coach concluded: "We have a group of players gradually turning into a complete team, and individual goals should serve the group. The bigger goal is to bring Milan back to the Champions League next season. Facing Napoli tomorrow is an important test, but the season is still long, and every week presents a new challenge."
