The Police team suffered a painful blow during their last match against Nawruz in the third round of the Iraqi Stars League, after their Brazilian defender Lucas Moses sustained a cruciate ligament tear.

Moses had to leave the pitch of Al-Fayha Stadium in Basra immediately after the injury, as he was taken directly to the hospital for necessary medical examinations.

The examination results later confirmed his cruciate ligament tear, which means he will be away from the pitch for a long time, representing a significant loss for the team that heavily relies on his experience and defensive capabilities.

For its part, Al-Police Club expressed its full support for the player through an official statement published on its social media platforms, which stated:

"Get well soon, Lucas Moses.. We wish you a speedy recovery and a quick return to the field. Your strength and determination will overcome this phase, and everyone will stand by you step by step. The fields are waiting for you, and victory is near."

Moses's injury comes at a critical time, as the Police team prepares for important commitments in the league alongside continental competitions, which poses a significant challenge for the coaching staff led by coach Moamen Soliman to find a suitable replacement in the back line.
