Harry Kane's Departure Clause Puts Bayern Munich in a Dilemma
German newspaper "Bild" revealed that Bayern Munich may face a potential crisis due to a clause in the contract of their English striker Harry Kane, despite his strong start this season.
The 32-year-old star tops the Bundesliga's scoring list after four rounds, having scored 8 goals, and netted a brace in his team's 3-1 victory over Chelsea in the Champions League, now only two goals away from his 100th goal with the Bavarian team since joining.
The newspaper pointed out that Kane's contract includes an exit clause that allows him to leave Bayern at the end of the season for 65 million euros, provided he announces his decision during the winter transfer window.
"Bild" clarified that the player is still considering a return to the Premier League to break the record held by Alan Shearer of 260 goals, as Kane currently has 213 goals, all with Tottenham.
The report added that Bayern's management believes that letting Kane go for this amount at the age of 33 would be a good financial deal, but at the same time, they are considering extending his contract and canceling the clause to retain their top scorer.
