Media figure Khaled El Ghandour revealed that the coaching staff of the Egyptian national team and the team's doctor, Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ala, made sure to check on Imam Ashour, the Al Ahly player, after he was recently hospitalized.

El Ghandour added during the program "Stadium Al-Mahwar": "Hossam Hassan is awaiting Imam Ashour's situation and the date of his return to participate in team training and whether the player will be able to participate in matches before announcing the squad list for the October camp, to finalize his fate once and for all or not."
He concluded: "Hossam Hassan will announce the Egyptian national team list on October 4, and the delegation will travel on a private plane to Morocco to face Burkina Faso on the 8th of the same month in the World Cup qualifiers."
