Young Chelsea star Cole Palmer expressed his regret after his team's 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the first round of the Champions League group stage at the Allianz Arena.
Palmer, who scored the Blues' only goal, said in statements to DAZN: "I think we played well, and we proved we deserve to be here. The three goals we conceded were due to our mistakes. We had many opportunities."
He added: "We managed to penetrate their defense well, but we missed some important chances. They are a great team, and we deserved a better result than what we got."
Chelsea will play in the second round against Benfica at Stamford Bridge on September 30.
