Marc Cucurella has become the latest addition to the list of players who have worn the jerseys of both Real Madrid and Barcelona, after the royal club announced the signing of the Spanish defender from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' indicated that Cucurella had previously appeared in the first team jersey of Barcelona in only one official match, when he participated on October 24, 2017, during a match against Real Murcia, after coach Ernesto Valverde brought him on as a substitute for the Frenchman Lucas Digne in the final minutes of the game.

During that period, the player was active with the Barcelona Athletic team under the leadership of Garcia Pimienta in the Spanish second division, alongside a number of young talents, before his career later moved towards other stations outside the Catalan club.

By joining Real Madrid, Cucurella enters a select list of players who have represented both clubs, which includes prominent names in football history such as Luis Figo, Luis Enrique, Samuel Eto'o, Albert Celades, Bernd Schuster, and Luis Milla.

The same source added that Cucurella's career has seen him work under coaches with similar styles that rely on discipline, intensity, and competitiveness, as he began his career in the Spanish league with José Luis Mendilibar, then shone with Getafe under the leadership of José Bordalás.
